Mental Health Association

A professional psychology platform connecting research and practice — integrating community resources to comprehensively support the mental health of children and youth.

About Us

About the Association

The Hong Kong Child and Youth Mental Health Association is a non-profit society duly established under law. The Association is dedicated to bringing together resources from all sectors of society and building a professional psychology platform that bridges academic research and applied services — offering more systematic and accessible mental health support to promote the well-being of children and young people, and to foster a happier, kinder, and more supportive society.

In recent years, mental health concerns among children and adolescents have continued to rise, with issues increasingly appearing at younger ages. Under multiple pressures — academic demands, family and school expectations, rapid social change, and information overload — young people are more likely to experience anxiety, emotional distress, and uncertainty about their identity. Readjusting to learning and social rhythms after the pandemic can further compound these emotional burdens.

Through professional counselling and family- and community-based activities, we aim to help children and youth develop healthier psychological qualities and stronger coping skills. Together with partners across society, we hope to create a safer, more inclusive, and opportunity-rich environment in which young people can overcome challenges, grow well, and fulfill their potential.
